This policy covers the iOS app HeShe ("the app").
The app has no accounts, no ads and no cross-app tracking. We do not collect your name, email, contacts or location.
Phrases found in the built-in dictionary are processed only on your device. If a phrase is not in the dictionary, its text, the translation direction and the app language are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards them to Google Gemini to generate a joke answer. We do not store these phrases or link them to you. Google may process and retain this text under the Gemini API Terms, including to improve its services. Please don't type personal or sensitive information.
Before the first phrase is sent to AI, the app asks for your permission. If you choose "Not now", nothing is sent and only the built-in dictionary is used. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app: Settings → AI decoding for new phrases.
Our server does not store phrases or answers; it only forwards the request and returns the answer. Standard hosting logs (Vercel) may briefly contain technical request metadata such as time and status code, not the phrase text. Google's retention of API requests is described in the Gemini API terms linked above.
The app stores your settings and a daily counter of free AI answers locally on your device.
To understand which features are useful, the app sends anonymous usage events (for example: a translation was completed from the dictionary or by AI, Settings or the subscription screen was opened, a purchase was started or completed) to TelemetryDeck, an analytics service based in Germany. Events contain only the event type, simple settings such as the app language and translation direction, and basic technical details such as the app version, iOS version and device model. They never include the phrases you type, AI answers, your name or any other personal data. Device identifiers are anonymized and hashed before they leave your device, so we cannot identify you, and this data is not used to track you across other apps or websites. You can turn this off at any time in the app: Settings → Anonymous usage statistics. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
